Hepatology Overview
The Hepatology program was started in March of 2007 and since its inception it has brought unparalleled care to patients suffering from liver disease within our local community as well as several from across the country and abroad. The vast growth of the program since its inception has been extraordinary and we are now overseeing the care for thousands of Hepatology patients.
In 2008 we initiated Phase 2 trials for the treatment of Hepatitis C in both patients without previous treatment and those who have failed conventional therapies by using cutting edge medicines. We also participated in clinical trials to provide new medicines and treatments for patients with advanced liver cancer. Also in 2008, we began our collaboration with the UCF College of Medicine where we formulated the curriculum for educating students in the study of liver diseases.
Our goal is to offer a nationally and internationally recognized program in the treatment and research of patients with liver disease, and to provide excellence of care to all patients and their families throughout their lifetime.
